An excellent logo can speak for a company
more effectively than any paragraph.
Logos build brand identity because
they speak in a universal language – the
language of symbols and icons. We wanted
to make sure that the logo for RedWAY
BC captured the spirit of our project…so
we offered a logo contest. We challenged
you to design a logo that would give
insight into Urban Aboriginal Youth
life.
First Nations Employment Society sponsored
our logo contest, offering $150 cash
and lots of fame and glory for the winning
designer. Entries from across the province
were received and the final 4 were chosen
by the YAC’s. Those top 4 logos
were seen around the country in the January
2004 Special Issue of our RedWAY BC News
.
Raymond Charlie’s (Lil’wat
Nation) winning entry received over 70%
of your votes in our on-line polls! He
worked with our web design team to tweak
the logo for our site and print materials,
and you’ll see the little differences
between his original design and the version
you’ll see around town.
