CELEBRITY:
Annita McPhee
Why? Ms. McPhee is a National
Native Role Model for British Columbia. Annita has strived despite
adversities to achieve excellence in
Academia, has obtained a Law Degree and Bachelor Degree in Social
Work. I admire her continual persistence in providing education
to Urban and Rural Native Youth in areas such as Criminal Justice,

WORDS
OF ADVICE:
I know it ain’t easy, but, once
one finds confidence and becomes self aware, the rest just falls
in place. Insecurities and negative attitudes are left behind and
our potentials and honest desires give us the opportunity to live
life in a more free and positive light. So don’t take things
too personal! And help others along the way the way. That may be
a smile, an opened door, a cup of coffee, a “hand me down” or
a hug. We’re all human. |

FINAL
WORDS...
Through my healthy addiction to school, I became confident, hard
working, and gradually the doors of opportunities flung. Honestly
though success can never be measured, and personal happiness is what
can make a difference to yourself and others you tough each day.
It was patience and setting realistic goals that enabled me to obtain
an Associates of Arts Degree, Criminology Diploma and through all
that work pat time and have to sons. Sure I lived on Reserve in a
tiny Community (Port Hardy) and was raised in a Single parent family
in the downtown eastside most of my life, but it took courage and
determination to push myself to places I that held the key to achieving
my goals and that my friend was School and the Trust in God. |
