Combining leading edge processes such as Open Space Technology with Indigenous values, Chris helps groups self-organize and get to work on things that really matter to them - developing the potential for change, evolution and the emergence of leadership.
Chris Corrigan was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, and currently lives on Bowen Island, British Columbia, near Vancouver. He is mixed ancestry, Irish, Scottish, Manx and Ojibway.. He received a B.A. (Honours) in Native Studies and Native Management from Trent University in 1991. His honours thesis, Organizational culture in two aboriginal organizations, looked at models for studying and describing the culture of Aboriginal organizations. His research and conceptual models helped to initiate further research on the idea of Aboriginal management.
Want to talk about inspiring change? In 1991 he moved to Ottawa and began working with the National Association of Friendship Centres (NAFC) as a policy analyst. During his 2.5 year tenure there, Chris participated in Constitutional discussions, Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples hearings and numerous conferences and meetings with a variety of organizations. He initiated the planning on a devolution process that saw the NAFC eventually take over the management of its $13 million funding program in 1996. As a program developer, he brought over $1 million worth of projects into the Friendship Centre movement.
We look forward to experiencing his style of facilitation, Open Space Technology, which allows organizations, groups and communities to operate with high levels of dialogue, passion and commitment.

25 years old, Haida/ Cree
Derek leads with words and actions as a hip-hop and traditional performing artist. He is a motivational speaker encouraging to young people to take back their strength and find their own voice. He is an elected member on the Council of Haida Nations and is a Union of BC Indian Chiefs Youth Representative. Pawa - Tskwa-Chilth / Crystal Sutherland
29 years old, Ahousaht Nation
Crystal is Ahousaht from the Nuu-chah-nulth Nation on Vancouver Island. She completed a four-year First Nations Studies Program at Malaspina University in Nanaimo, BC. Currently, she works with the BC Assembly of First Nations as the Youth Coordinator, coordinating the regional youth forums across BC called BOLT - Building Our Legacy Together Forums. At these forums young people will identify aboriginal youth issues and deliver recommendations for change to provincial and federal departments as well as aboriginal organizations. She also facilitates other forums such as the Youth Engagement forum with MCAWS on PASES. Clayton Thomas-Müller
Mathais Colomb Cree Nation in Northern Manitoba, Canada
Clayton is an activist for Indigenous self-determination and environmental justice. He is the Oil Campaign Organizer for the Indigenous Environmental Network. Clayton finds many ways to contribute to the movement of his peoples, including serving on the board of the CHI/Bioneers. For his efforts Clayton has been recognized by the prestigious Utne’ Reader as one of the Top 30 under 30 young activists in the United States.
